After arrived to here, I get to realized that the surrounding of daily life, no doubt, is full with regulations and standards, horizontal and vertical. People were here, built houses with bare hands for the living, which then completed this so-called symbiotic community. With various notches of history, Treasure Hill has been uncomfortably settle next to the hustle and bustle city. Surrounding with rivers and mountains, it continues memories in the flux of time.
I have created a new landscape with a type of material ‘mizuito’ in a place named ‘Frontier (border, boundary, limit)’. Mizuito, by trying to draw out the basic criterion, has constructed the twisted time frame and multidimensional spaces.
*About ‘mizuito’
The act of drawing out horizontal line is called ‘Mizu-dashi’, ‘Mizu-mori’ in Japan.
Water could create a horizontal line in any condition. For instance, the water pouring into the cup, the water gathering in the tank, or the rain puddle in the uneven road, these are all the extension of horizontal line. Since the past till now, people all use this theory to draw the horizontal line and make the datum line when making construction. And Mizuito is the material that people use for making the ‘Mizu-dashi’.
