Location: Bambinart Gallery
Artist(s): Kota HIRAKAWA
Date: 1 Aug - 15 Aug 2013

In 2009, Hirakawa encountered an artificial minera, 'Trinitite' in Hiroshima for the first time. Trinitite was created by melted sand of desert during 'Trinitite' nuclear test in the U.S (1945), and the name has been used for the mineral of the same kind.
A beauty of it clouded with a history of death and postwar led to his art work. In this exhibition, he will announce new works of 'Trinitite' series, repainted record picture of the war by Japanese army in black. Through this series, the artist tries to explore the war and art history. Looking back the past to solve the problems the Japan society has had after the war will lead to thoughts for present and future.
