Conversation piece
by Bambinart Gallery
Location: Bambinart Gallery
Artist(s): Enami NARA
Date: 15 Jun - 7 Jul 2013

Bambinart Gallery is pleased to present “Conversation piece”, a solo exhibition by Enami Nara.

Enami Nara (b.1977, Hokkaido prefecture) has been tutored by Jennifer Bartlett in 2008 during her one year study program as a selected overseas artist sponsored by the Pola Art Advancement Foundation, after being awarded the Gold prize in GEISAI #10 promoted by the artist, Takashi Murakami.

The works of Enami Nara are drawn into the layers of plates, the essence of which are cutouts of images from certain actions and scenes. “Fight”, is one of her representative, serial works where two people are fighting one another, and so are “Audience” and “Cemetery”, where there are similar, continuous images of many people or gravestones, are works in which shapes are prominently drawn, diluting the original meaning of the shape but bringing the outline into sharp relief.

By this exhibition, we wish to announce her new series entitled “Conversation piece”. In this series, “I have collected scenes in the daily life of one family, in other words, it is a sort of diary. I drew about the intimacy within one family,” says Enami Nara.
