Our exhibition for this summer 2012 will be titled “Director’s Choice vol.2” and will be showcasing・selling art works of the selected 6 artists of EMON PHOTO GALLERY. Since 2005 when the gallery started, EMON PHOTO GALLERY has been looking into the activities of the boarder-less artists thinking outside of the general concept, ranging from documentary to contemporary, showcasing it to everyone. Celebrating the EMON’s 8th year, Nils Udo’s work which became the starting point of our concept, this is an exhibition of one’s own point of view and originality. 

Artists 
Nils Udo 
Nils Udo, a Bavarian artist from Germany creates his own atmosphere with his intellectual and unique approach. A gentle divine scene is born from natural scenery by Udo’s touch added. For this exhibition, we will be exhibiting his collections from “The Nest”, a 1978 creation. 1937 Born in Germany Travels around the Middle East, Morocco,and Europe at age 20 1960 Started his career as an artist in Paris. 1970s Announces his work, a photo of crafts using elements from the nature. This original method gains recognition. 1980s Spreads his activity as an artist of urban space. 

David Fokos 
Marking 1998 as his turning point, he is highly acclaimed in galleries in America and Europe handling contemporary art. His look towards, having nature and artificial objects coexist, brings out a scent of modern essence with a hint of minimalism. 1960　Born in Maryland, USA Now resides in San Diego, California Has many
museums in America collecting his works Margriet Smulders Since her childhood, Smulders has had a particular interest towards flowers. In the 80s she has created her works of portrait arranging the scene of flowers, and since the 90s, she has been creating numerous experimental works making flower as a motif. The flowers nipped of floating on water, the strong luster from the flower about to decay, an expression that is possible because of a women stands out as a strong personality from her works. 1955　Bron in Purisme, Netherlands Exhibiting numerous exhibitions domestically and internationally At EMON, a collaboration exhibition with Takeshi Kainuma on May 2005 and David Fokos on November took place. 

Takeshi Kainuma 
The first impression from his work is “stillness”. When you come one step closer, it is very complex, beautiful, and elegant. Giving close observation to the things that are overlooked, it is sublimated into “beauty” by capturing the instant moment of the sparkling time. The beauty of Kainuma, which floats in his silent world continues to charm many people around the world. 1962 Born in Tokyo 2004 Begins his career as an artist in New York. Currently based in Tokyo. 

Hideo Tobita 
Tobita continuously uses the method creating his works by shooting the miniature world handmade by him with a large format camera. Destructing the original miniature set after the shooting is also his unique style, which has never changed for 15 years. It is Tobita’s method that gathers attention, but the true charm of his works are the power of bringing out the viewer’s memories and emotions in depth. 1948　Bron in Kanagawa Prefecture Graduated from Odawarajou Kita Kougyo High School. 2007 Begins announcing his works in Tokyo 

Sarah Fujiwara
An artist active in her creation setting base in France since 2000. Exhibited her first solo show “Neuma" at EMON PHOTO GALLERY this April. Her works might be mistaken with abstract art, but it is a true photo art, which is taken by a large sized instant film with no processing. Born in Aichi Prefecture Starts exhibiting her solo and group exhibitions domestically and internationally.
