Artist Statement

Since 1990, I have examined the interaction between material, space, and visual appearance. I conceive and develop my space installations according to the information that the given spatial situation offers. My interest is the equal dialogue between the already existing and my specific intervention, that makes the space and my intervention visible and perceptible as a new temporary unit in time. For these temporary installations I use common industrial materials and products.

I also examine the visual tension of the work in itself: at the same time examining its reference to - and influence on - architecture and the environment. Basically I am working with clear geometric forms, which I apply to playfully activate the interaction between space, object and observer.

With my mode of practice I like to call the attention on the subjective character of perception. The interaction between my specific intervention and the environment allows an experience of a newly defined perception of space.
