Nakahira has entered his series 'Circulation: Date, Place, Events' to Paris Biennale in 1971. BLD Gallery has held a few of his works in last year, and in this time, we exhibit all works of this series. Many artists from all of the world join the Paris Biennale, and Okada Takahiko, the Japanese Commissioner, suggested him to participate in Biennale as an exclusive represent artist in this year with 'Circulation' series. However, he refused the suggestion, and went to Paris to proceed a new project. For his project 'What is the expression?' in Paris, Nakahira photographed all objects in Paris randomly, and printed and exhibited them all day by day. Recording the reality limited by 'date' and 'place' and changing them to the reality immediately, he said this 'circulation' is 'the first actualized his methodological photography techniques'. The 'Circulation' series, lasted since 'why an illustrated plant book?' series in 1973, is the important project in his changing over period.
