Jomi Kim uses everyday objects around us to create works. On the floor of the larger gallery she arranges deodorizer beads in the shape of a puddle that slowly evaporate, and around this places objects like combs weaved with hair and false eyelashes, as well as photographs tracing the changes they undergo over time. In the smaller gallery she presents works including helium balloons gradually falling as their gas leaks out. Kim has affection for the ways in which trivial items around us change gently with the passage of time, and her work highlights the transient beauty inherent in traces of the mundane everyday.
