by Ai Kowada Gallery
Location: Ai Kowada Gallery
Artist(s): Mitsunori SAKANO
Date: 8 Mar - 13 Apr 2014

We would like to inform that we are holding "appearing their private poetry: memories for the future" created by Mitsumori Sakano. This solo-exhibition is a division of a show called "Asian Anarchy Alliance."

Sakano created the artwork called "appearing" in Taipei constructed by six films. These films were produced by research based on Taiwanese who can speak Japanese. He visualised their voices such as the pact of eroding Taiwan history itself and their individual histories.

The beginning of this project is his experience of visiting at Taipei day care center called "Gyokulansou" which is only the place served in Japanese in Taiwan. He spotted the trace of Japanese culture and education system, and the attitude of elderly people towards this matter. In the project, there are dialog of people had taken a programme in Gyokulansou or had Japanese education system. In addition, Harue Wang Lin, an amateur singer met in Gyokulansou, created music for this exhibition. She lived in Japan for seven years when she was young. She created this music video with her husband, Lin Cheng-ching, and this is the first time to showed in public.
