Small cracks appear the moment I put down the spray can after finishing painting.
These cracks are connected to other small cracks and together it become big cracks.
They all connect to each other and then form a geometric pattern.
Deterioration, which requires some decades under normal condition, occurs in a moment here.
This condensed time creates a geometric structure, an artwork."

About the Artist:
Toru Matsushita was born in Kanagawa in 1984. He studied at graduate school of inter media art, Tokyo University of the Arts and received his MFA in 2010. Using deteriorated paint, he works on paintings and objects. His exhibition includes group exhibitions such as VOCA2012 and a solo exhibition in Hong Kong.
