"I am interested in the surface revealed by various media, and the sense I feel when the surface becomes a part of my body and then digested. And, I am also intrigued by the body itself that is affected and eventually fade away. The relation between input and output of a human body is perverse. I ceaselessly absorb vast amount of information and retrieve it. And everything seems all the same, but for some reason, I accept the messy situation as it is.
I wonder if I accept it, or I am affected by it. That is one of the things I keep thinking about.
I paint. I try to cram things as much as possible when I paint. I paint every word, texture and color independently, thinking every figure is a picture. Through accepting everything happens during the course of painting, I try to make a painting that is a metaphor of human body. This exhibition will visualize the process that the world inside and outside of the painting being affected and fading away.
This painting is a mess, far from a human body. There are so many things painted that you find nothing there. But, isn’t it the way we are? Maybe that’s why we accept everything. At least, I hope so."
