Yasuhiro Onishi's strangely deformed portrait is not a result of his imagination, but various personalities in a minimal frame is attractive with mysterious reality. There are some parts referred from Western classic portrait.
Photographs and painting with an optical illusion he recently focuses on, 'Untitled' series, breaks a boundary between a person and an object as making an outline of photo blurred. The audience cannot identify what exactly it is, which the artist pursues.
This is the first solo exhibition in Japan.
