Ota Fine Arts is pleased to announce the solo exhibition of Tang Dixin (born in 1982), a Shanghai contemporary artist who attracts worldwide attention. He exhibited in MoCA Shanghai and UCCA in Beijing last year, and will be exhibited in the upcoming Gwangju Biennale this year.
Tang Dixin, born in the 80s, is known for activities which appear to ironically criticize social conflicts in China. For this occasion, Tang will display video recordings of radical acts he has performed with the use of his body. Having graduated from the faculty of oil painting, he will also showcase five painting works which are rather witty in content. At the opening reception, the artist will perform his work "Rest is the best way of Revolution", in which he will wear a white apron and make plaster casts for audience in a space that replicates the interior of a hospital - 'Resting Room'.
