KAMODA Shoji(1933-1983) are often considered the finest examples of 20th century ceramic art. He studied pottery at the Craft Department of the Kyoto City University of Arts, where he received instructions from Kenkichi TOMIMOTO. He continued to produce masterpieces throughout his career and restlessly changed his style every few years. His work was so kaleidoscopic that he has had no true imitators or followers. Nonetheless, his influence has been pervasive.
