Location: VT Art Salon
Artist(s): TZENG Yong-Ning
Date: 27 Jun - 7 Aug 2015

“I started a totally different journey, the colour that I painted in dark and deep; far away from the land and the sun’s concern, but to get more closer to console from the glimmer of the stars.” said by Tzeng, Yong-Ning.

Tzeng Yong-Ning, borned at Lukang in 1978. Graduated from Taipei National University of the Arts-Department of Fine Arts. He has won the Taipei Arts Award twice and the The 11th Taoyuan Contemporary Arts Award. Currently lives in Taipei, Taiwan as a professional artist. Tzeng Yong-Ning started his career with oil painting background, he originally painted in ink and wash painting, and combined the ink and wash painting with ballpoint pen, and watercolour. He first published his ballpoint pen painting series in 2002. His works has also been collected in varies museums, including White Rabbit Gallery in Australia, Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts and National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts. He also participated in the residency program at L'Espace culturel Bonnefoy, France in 2012.

Tzeng Yong-Ning received more attention ever since the Wild Man Garden Series has been exhibited. His painting style showed the energy which burst out from fabulous colours, through the firebrick red image in Wild Fire series. He knitted things which belong to tiny nature beings with special life stories. And he also started to create another path in order to paint the burns from the original power physically.

This year, the solo exhibition- ”Stars” at VT Artsalon, Tzeng, Yong-Ning changed his colourful, flowering and harmonious style. It is very first time that he painted with dark blue as base and the limitless illusion reflected from the star’s gleam continuously, which will lead the audience to explore the subtle connection between heaven and earth. This time, the art works will bring people to look up to the sky and rethink our own little life, and find the difference in the glamorous light within whole universe. All of his works are talking about our unpredictable and changeable life with the slight star light and all kinds of tiny spots and apertures silently....
