Y.E.S., Taiwan is an abbreviation of Young Emerging Stars, Taiwan. This is one of the most important programs in Aki Gallery, and Y.E.S., Taiwan is aim to highlight young stars of Taiwanese Contemporary art field. Artists’ creation history, theory and maturity of art works, and quality are main evaluation points to filter out superior artists. Base on those cautious aspects, Aki Gallery is fairly confident of recommend ten emerging stars to public and there will be lots of spotlight tracing them in the coming future.

In the third version of Y.E.S.,Taiwan, we invited talented young artists who had multicultural background and who apply different art forms in their work. Liang-pin Taso who study photography in Partt institution,NY; Shiau –Peng Chen stayed in Australia for many year and spend several months in Scotland for artist residency program. Ding-Yeh Wang and Fei-wen Li’s Berlin residency brought in the most edging contemporary concept into their works.

All these “living in elsewhere” experiences enrich artists’ perspective of the world, as well as upgrade the depth of their creation. With great art works, music and beers, Y.E.S.,Taiwan III in Aki Gallery will light up the first art fever of 2011! We sincerely welcome you to join the party on 12 March!
