There are some of Japanese contemporary artists focusing on skills and techniques. They break the limitation between time and value and don’t follow the market. However, some of the international audients misunderstand that Japanese contemporary art is Manga. This exhibition, TEKAZU-KEI, is going to correct this wrong cognition by presenting extremely high artistry’s works and providing a various range of aesthetic aspects.
“TEKAZU” means inconvenient, exquisite and complicated. The curators, Tsutomu Ikeuchi and Hiroshi Kogure, would like to provide a new perspective on skill, The artworks which were created by high skills and techniques imply a power to go beyond time and space and also present the possibility of brand-new art.
