ESLITE GALLERY is pleased to present “Resurrection‧Margin,” a solo exhibition by Lin Hsing-I. A video artist, Lin Hsing-I obtain her doctoral degree in Applied Arts from National Chiao Tung University, and she is currently an assistant professor at the Department of Material Arts and Design, Tainan National University of the Arts, Tainan, Taiwan. She was one of the representative artists of Taiwan in the 2005 Venice Biennale. In recent years she has been involved in an artist archive program directed by Gong Jow-Jiun, Dean of College of Visual Arts, Tainan National University of the Arts. From 2013 she began developing a series of short documentary of Taiwanese artists such as Chiang Chung-Lun, Chen Po I, Lee Hsu-Pin and more. Her observations of the artists are intimate and her interviews in-depth. In this solo exhibition, she will bring her films on Ni Xiang, Kao Jun-Honn and Chen Chieh-jen. Lin’s documentaries vary between cinematic and extreme realistic. Through the moving image, she takes on a unique view on the principal of art in Taiwan.
In addition to showing her documentary films, Lin also invited Gong Jow-Jiun to organize a film archive/documentary film festival showing documentary films of artists made by artists at ESLITE GALLERY showing documentary films of artists made by artists (free admission).
