Yuhsin U. Chang’s art draws on introspection and on a certain form of openness to the world. Her works mix organic materials with other substances and seem at once strange and common, intimate and unfamiliar. She was able to explore the boundaries between the inert and the living. In these photographs, it is a question of a metamorphosis, not a metaphor, into the perspective of becoming. The object photographed could not only be something else in the frame, but also reveal the spirit of what it is becoming. Landscapes are born from being looked at in this way. We see a special geological environment that is also organic through the discovery of a human skin. Dust, installation in situ, These monuments invade the space in a supernatural manner similar to a body that is invisible, unfinished, and residual. Amorphous and precarious, these dust giants oscillate between the disintegration and regeneration.
