Feral emerges out of an exploration of parallels processing between Taiwan’s landscape and diverse cultures.  Where the Taiwanese aboriginals use natural materials in systematic methods to create architecture that reflects their local environment, a Taiwanese city or village also contains an organization of space that intimately reflects the natural landscape. While living in Yangmingshan at the Grass Mountain Artists Village, I have observed how the semiangle environment is actually filled with many orderly systems. This body of work attempts to decipher and identify these systems as seen through a foreign eye.
