When we stop at a "window" and gaze out, a sense of poetics often arises, as one's hopes and expectations for the future falls beyond the distant view outside the window. There is a saying that "the eyes are the windows to the soul," which through the interface of a 'window' we observe, become aware, and understand this world. But although the window, in one way, connects the internal and external world, it often frames and limits our vision, like the contemporary digital window "screen," leading us to a wider world of information, but also entrapping us in a vast virtual world. This exhibition invites nine artists: Wang Ya-Hui, Chu Chun Teng, Lin Chun-Chi, Yao Chung-Han, Chen Wan-Jen, Chang Teng Yuan, Tsui Kuang-Yu, Liao Chi-Yu, Liu Han-Chi, with works of photography, video, mechanics, and sound installation, presenting an understanding and different perspective of the world — to look out a window, or look in.

Reception: 2011.3.12 4.30pm
