Yu-Cheng Chou's art projects place emphasis on the procedures and operations hidden beneath the surface, especially concentrating on how to produce alternative modes of operation within an established reality. By doing so, not only are the problems underlying established facts revealed, it also in some way produces corresponding alternative interests--this process is what he calls "design scheme." In recent years, he has collaborated with private enterprises, art galleries, museums, art institutions, labor workers, writers etc. through the logic of this concept, requesting for their participation and presenting the project through diverse forms, such as installation, painting, publishing, media, and documents.
