As a daily expression, the word “small” is often employed to convey an idea of affinity and charm of the depicted object. In this day and age, with the boundless information flow ceaselessly challenging and compressing our mind, as the most acute representation of the age, art presents a most diverse landscape. “Small is Beautiful” is the title of a group exhibition introduced by Art Seasons in 2013 to explore what art conveys and its multiple implications in the social context from a micro (small) perspective, trying to make sense of or grapple with the grander (big) voice of contemporary art. Using a carefree attitude and by touching on grave issues, the word “small” is infused with a unique significance.
In addition, the expressive power of small artworks is also reflected in the comparative relationship with the space in which they are displayed. Doubtless, the structural study of the art field is an important part of the theme of this exhibition as well as its visual exploration.
The third round of the show will be presented in collaboration with Banyan Art Map-ing
