Dialogue Space Gallery is pleased to present "Lucky Field — Ma Dan Solo Exhibition", the first ever solo exhibition in her artistic career. Tens of the artist's new creations of oil on canvas will be displayed in the gallery.
Transcending the mysteries of reality by sheer dreaming, Ma Dan's simple and primitive depiction of people and scenery in-duces a reflection on the relations among "human being, life and nature", giving rise to a style of Autobiographical Surrealism. Ma Dan's painting, into which the artist's subjective, emotions and imagination percolate, constructs an atmosphere of ineffable tranquility almost like in a dream, yet not quite like a dream. A way of communication without restraint between "human and universe" is explored in her tender arrangement of character and other natural elements, justifiably demonstrating the purity of life. In the desire of revisiting and expressing the dream, her creation is spontaneously carried out "in building the self and sub-jective world", never hesitating in her pursuit of spiritual liberty. The little girl, with a lonely, pure and cute image, is probably the self-portrait of the artist; in the meantime, she is also the key to the entrance of her dream, or the passage leading to the subconscious realm of Ma Dan.
Ma Dan's painting gives us an ineffable pleasure both visually and mentally. It reminds us of the primitive age and also rouses everyone's basic instinct for the nature being.
