Junsui this time in motion by Lukas Birk

Junsui this time in motion, is a continuation of Lukas's show Junsui, previously shown in China, Japan and the UK. Junsui explores Lukas’s deep fascination for the pureness he sees in black. His visual language speaks with poetry about an abstract world somewhere deep in the ocean of mystery.

The film, shown for the first time at Anni Art, is an animation made of more then 6000 photographs. The subtle movement of abstract creatures and mysterious waters brings us in a space far away from the surface of this world.

Lukas Birk born in Bregenz, Austria. Resident in Beijing since 2007.

Worked at a very young age as radio presenter and journalist in Austria and Germany.  After extensive travels to India and South East Asia at age 20 he decided to take his photographic experimentations a step further and held his first Solo Show in Austria showing images and collages from his travels. He studied digital art and photography in London where he worked as freelance photographer for prominent publications such as Time Out, The New Statesman and the Royal Geographic Society. His multimedia projects have included documentary work about war zones, experimental animations and films as well as large scale light installations. He has worked as freelance photographer and filmmaker in Europe, the Middle East and East Asia.
