White Box Museum of Art is proud to present to you The Facebook---Fu Chun Lai‟s Solo Photography Show from April 16, 2011 to April 26, 2011.

Fu Chun Lai was one of the primary founders of the Chinese Photography Council. He graduated with a degree in photography from the Arts Department at Wuhan University. Early on, he worked in the People‟s Art Museum in Jilin and the Social Culture Department of the Chinese Ministry of Culture. In the 1980s, he joined the Chinese Photography Council, then in 2009 he started his career as the director of the photography and film center at the White Box Museum of Art. Intending to create a realistic documentary, he presents us the original values and concepts of Chinese contemporary art, which lead to The Portraits of One Hundred Contemporary Artists. Since 2009, he has photographed more than 130 contemporary artists, curators, critics, and managers of art organizations. His lenses documented the spirituality of Chinese contemporary artists under the global economic depression The Portraits of One Hundred Contemporary Artists has been officially selected for a special exhibition at the 2011 l'Ile De La Reunion Biennale.

The Portraits of One Hundred Contemporary Artists is a very important project both for White Box Museum of Art and Fu Chun Lai. As the first exhibition of The Portraits of One Hundred Contemporary Artists, The Facebook: Fu Chun Lai‟s Solo Photography Show will exhibit around 50 portraits of people in the art world. The photographer tries to reveal the psychological conditions of each person through photojournalism and genealogy. Fu Chun Lai‟s works discover the value and the meanings of contemporary art. Maybe, as a matter of fact, everything has just begun.
