Date: 9 Sep - 5 Oct 2012

There are quite different motivations and goals when artists create contemporary Arts. Some of them keep a certain distance away from Classic Styles; some however, take efforts and dive into it. In Yang Peijiang's work, you could find his solid painting techniques which's apparently from traditional and classic school trainings, and this is undoubtedly, a relation to classic extraction. On the other side, the intensive flavor of Neo-Expressionism portrays his work as a different style from traditional painting.

Expressionism, and Neo-expressionism care quite few about the concrete, practical matters in the real society, but more about the individual feelings, emerge from artists' deep bottom of heart. For time's changed, so did artists style of painting moved away from the concrete and brutal reality which may involve too much political connotations, the only thing they keep favor is their inner world of never-lands. For this, you can not find any clue of social political metaphors in Yang's works, instead, is the riotous emotional expression, a thorough vent for fresh wisdom. This mystics style of expression in painting is opening the new world for contemporary Art.
