Tao Aimin delves into the daily life of common Chinese women through washboards. This multi-media exhibition reveals the private language and toil of simple women from many centuries up until now: installations, ink wash paintings, ink wash prints, photographs and video. The monotonous labor of women is in the washboards themselves, split and worn down, like the hands and souls of the women who used them.
