After successfully presenting Serene Scent: New Ink Painting last year, Red Gate presents Traces of Individuals, reflecting the very dynamic development of the traditional media in recent years.

Sun Baijun, He Canbo and Wu Shaoying have been practicing contemporary ink painting since the 1990s. Their understandings and interpretations of the media varies, and each has developed their own unique artistic style. As the title suggests, rather than generalizing or tagging them with any particular term, this exhibition focuses on their individual practice, looking at their art in their own personal and cultural context.
