Liu Qinghe was boor in Tianjin in Northern China. He has graduated from China Central Academy of Fine Arts and works there after for Chinese Ink-Painting research over several years. As a leading role of China contemporary Ink Painting, Liu penetrates traditional ink painting aesthetics and techniques into his artworks, which is in-depth reflection on contemporary chinese society.
"Floating" is another try of contemporary installation art after the previous successful exhibition "emerging". This time, Liu focus on people's spiritual lost and confusion under the social circumstances of extreme urbanization, during this process, people are always serving as conquerer when conflicting against the nature and society. In this exhibition, Liu will represent the meaning of "floating" with 20 young body sculptures. Their roaming and wandering expression on face and helpless gesture combined with viewer's endless imagination will echo the theme of the exhibition.
