The Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA) presents an artwork exhibition for its members under the exhibition title of REVEAL - HKIA at ArtisTree 2013. Sponsored by the Swire Properties, the exhibition aims to present the creativity and energy of local architects to the Hong Kong public. During the exhibition, members’ ingenious artworks will be showcased through a series of dynamic presentations in the form of photography, drawing and painting, sculpture, installation, handcraft, multimedia such as video and digital print, etc.

Combining art with architecture, the exhibition will explore how architects contribute to a city by sharing with the public their creative thoughts, ideas and works beyond just architecture. As stated in the curatorial statement, by showing the architects’ artworks, the exhibition will bring to visibility the architect’s inspirations and uncover their other side or inner space of imagination “before architecture”. Exhibitors would discuss the complementarities or contrasts in intentions, methodologies and experiences between making architecture or designing the built environment and producing artworks to bring into focus the similarities and differences between architectural design and other artistic media.

The exhibition will be featuring the individual artworks of around 80 HKIA members who come from firms of various sizes and business nature, the exhibition reveals their creativity and vitality. A mini cinema where movies and TV programmes about Hong Kong Architecture, real life documentaries would be shown throughout the event.
