Creative Spaces across Chai Wan in Hong Kong

Chai Wan Mei is an art and design festival gathering over 60 artists, designers and creative professionals across 40 studios over a period of two days. Organised in conjunction and with the support of the Art Basel Hong Kong art fair, Chai Wan Mei is now a much anticipated event in the Hong Kong art calendar attracting local and international visitors looking to escape the fair grounds for a few hours and explore Hong Kong’s grassroots arts scene beyond the Central district.

The festival is based in the industrial neighbourhood of Chai Wan, home to a unique and vibrant community of artists, designers, likened to New York’s Chelsea and recently awarded the Local Hero Award by Ming Pao Newspaper. This year’s edition brings together a rich program of Fine Art Exhibitions, Guerrilla Interventions by cutting edge artists in Public Spaces, Curated Designer Pop-up Village, interactive Artist Performances, Artist and Curator talks, Open Air Film Screenings, Designer Workshops, Book Launches, Open Studios late night cocktails, and the Chai Wan Nites party to celebrate the second edition of Art Basel Hong Kong.
