“Gallery by the Harbour” collaborated with King’s Gallery Hong Kong will be showing a collection of contemporary Russian art at Gallery by the Harbour from March 12 to 30, 2011. Featuring prominent contemporary Russian artists include Vladimir Korenev, Irina Kotova and Olga Trushnikova.
Contemporary Russian art creates distinct units of meaning and have repercussions on the whole culture. It can act as a filter through which you can see the glorious Russian history and diversified culture in a totally different light. In this exhibition, King’s Gallery presents a great collection of Russian contemporary art pieces denoting society’s symptoms, hidden relationships and dynamics. Through new and different possibilities, the artists have expressed their own ways to reach perfect Harmony.
Established in 2006, King’s Gallery has been a pioneer in showcasing the spirit and essence of a promising group of Russian artists. It owns one of the largest collections of highly collectible contemporary Russian paintings in Asia; our distinctive selection comprises of works in a great variety of styles, including Realism, Abstractionism, Impressionism and Futurism. Over the years, it has played a prominent role in introducing quality works from Russia to an increasingly appreciative audience.
Gallery by the Harbour will have “Music by the Harbour” in weekends during the period, young musicians Winnie and Kenneth will perform guitar duet.
