Hong Kong Waters
by Pao Galleries
Location: Pao Galleries
Artist(s): Andreas MüLLER-POHLE
Date: 16 Apr - 29 Apr 2011

Hong Kong Arts Centre is co-presenting the multimedia exhibition titled “Hong Kong Waters” with Lumenvisum at Pao Galleries, 4-5/F of Hong Kong Arts Centre from 16 to 29 April this year. The German artist Andreas Müller-Pohle will be presenting a series of photographic and multi-media work taken at the water surface in Hong Kong at the exhibition.

“Hong Kong Waters” aims at capturing the impression of Hong Kong through the perspective from different water levels by multi-medium. The three main components - photography, video and sound play important and complementary roles in this project. This is the artist’s second project about the world from the perspective of the water since his “Danube River Project” in 2005. “With this same divided perspective, I’m now photographing the huge region of Hong Kong that has the most varied water sources – sea, rivers, canals, waterfalls, reservoirs, and I find it astounding how West and East, Europe and Asia, mirror each other in both projects,” Müller-Pohle explained.

The exhibition will be presenting a multimedia installation composed of the three elements in which photography plays the central role in the form of 70 medium- and large-sized images (120 x 80 cm and 90 x 60 cm), accompanied by water-focused videos. Right before the opening ceremony of the exhibition on April 16, Müller-Pohle will join Lumenvism’s founder Mr. Ming-chong Tse at the Hong Kong Arts Centre to make a sharing about the exhibition as a welcoming programme for guests.

An Artist Talk will be held before the Opening Ceremony of the exhibition. Details are put as follows:
