Nancy Chu Woo is a Hong Kong artist who enjoys international fame.  She learned Chinese painting from Lingnan School master Zhao Shao’ang in her childhood.  In the 1960s, she was awarded the BFA degree by Cornell University and MA by Columbia University in USA. She returned to Hong Kong in 1973 and resumed the study of Chinese painting with another Lingnan master Yang Shanshen.  She once taught at the Fine Arts Department of The University of Hong Kong but later devoted herself to creative work, becoming one of the vanguards in "colour experimentation".
