Every Christmas, we are accustomed to be busy with selecting special Christmas gifts for our beloved ones. But how do we choose a special gift for our special ones?
The most common places for Christmas gift shopping in Hong Kong, are generally in big shopping malls, chain department stores or local gift shops. Lately, many also enjoy visiting Art Shops when they travel abroad and it has become one of the most popular, and a “must-go” shopping destination. Unfortunately, we don’t really have Art Shops in Hong Kong.
In seeing this, MADHOUSE has specially curated a pop-up art show titled, “In the mood for ART” for Christmas this year! We hope to offer and provide a different Christmas shopping experience for everyone.
“In the mood for ART” is a Pop-Up Art Exhibition by the most sought-after Hong Kong Artists, such as Wing Shya, Dorophy Tang, Graphic Airlines, Cassian Lau, Siuman and Wong Tianyan. All showing artists have created brand new art pieces and limited edition art products for this exhibition. These includes, photography works, original paintings, wooden sculptures, figure vinyl dolls, limited edition prints, graphic t-shirts and hand-made jewellery items.
Moreover, MADHOUSE is thrilled to invite Sunnie Chan, the director of Gallery 27, to select other renowned local artists from their stable such as, Tak Yeung, John Ho, Seemanho and Rainbow Leung to exhibit their new creations for this exciting event!
The other objective of this exhibition is to break the conventional idea by the general public in Hong Kong that “Art is expensive and unaffordable” . Thus you will find most of the works in the exhibition is retailed at very attractive prices. We hope to arouse the Hong Kong audiences to continuously grow their interest in Art, furthermore, we hope to provide a special opportunity for visitors to find and bring a piece of their favorite art home!
To celebrate Christmas this year, we have also arranged live musical performances every weekend during this exhibition for our visitors to enjoy while doing their Art Shopping!
