Save Animal Campaign – Charity Photography Exhibition

Just like you and me, animals are precious creatures which can feel happiness, sadness and pain. If the fact that they can’t speak tempts any self-centered disrespectfulness, let WOOF cry out loud for them!

Everyone knows someone who has bought a sick pet from a dishonest pet store. Some can even tell a story of how soon the poor little pet dies after it goes back home with its “new parents.” But how many of these storytellers can really see the truth behind this shocking phenomenon? Experiencing the cruel and naked death of a sick dog bought from one of these pet stores with her closet friend, Shin Wong decided to show our civilized world this intolerable brutality that the animals can only passively endure.

Compiling the passion and experience in the world of music and art for the past 8 years, Shin, with all her heart, produces and sings songs particularly for the spreading of this peaceful message to humankind. As an art curator of Madhouse, Shin also attempts to waken all the souls of mercy and compassion by gathering the kind efforts of several influential visual artists. With the earnest support from the recognized music producer, Alex Fung of The Invisible Men & Hong Kong Pop Guru, Jan Lamb, the “DOG’s SONGBOOK” proudly took shape. Having the photography works contributed by the prominent artists in Asia, who are Wing Shya, Young Kim (also known as Suitman) Dan Pak and Wang Qingsong, the “WOOF BOOK” was born.

In this Music X Art charity exhibition of harmony, everyone of us would be reminded of the primal love and friendship between animals and human beings. We will again experience the deep respect for life that surges in our hearts and we will see the truth that all living creatures are actually made for living together in peace.

Please note that the artworks and photography books sold at the exhibition will be donated to Hong Kong Companion Animal Federation (HKCAF) for their kennel extension project.

HKCAF was registered and established as a non-profit making organization on 13 Jul, 2002 and became the first animal welfare charity institution in Hong Kong in 2006 (File No.: 91/7197). According to HKCAF, the beneficiary of the “WHO’s DOG?” Exhibition, companion animals are born everyday in the society due to profit making or unintended pregnancy. However, there are even more of them are killed because of abandonment. The organization advocates that the only way to stop this “recurring massacre” is to tackle directly the source of the problem. Its mission is to promote kindness, prevent and suppress cruelty to animals. Also, HKCAF aims at treating different diversity of animals that are abandoned, abused, sick or injured with equality, providing them with food, shelter, veterinary care and proper training so that they would not be put down or simply die due to the lack of care, but having a chance to be adopted and hence, a precious rebirth.
