Born in Chengdu in 1964, Guo Jin graduated from Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts, Oil Painting Department in 1990 and has been teaching at Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts, Chongqing since then. Major exhibitions include: "China Art Now!", Singapore Art Museum, Singapore (2001); "Chinart", Museum of Contemporary Art, Rome (2004); "Chinart", Ludwig Museum, Budapest (2004); "The International Asian Art Fair", Now York (2006).

Based on “the search for artistic idealism”, Guo Jin's works allow us to enter his inner soul and show us that there is sufficient power in the happiness there to combat modern society – returning to the original state of mankind in the chronological sense and condensing time in the experiential sense; he uses children as an aesthetic symbol and the magic mirror of man's childhood together with wild joy to build up his own creative language.
