Guo Wei was born in Chengdu, Sichuan province. He graduated from the print-making department of Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts in 1989, and currently lives and works in Sichuan Province, China.

Since 1992, the artist’s works have been shown in numerous national and international exhibitions, including his first solo exhibition “Bound States Guo Wei’s Works” in 1999, Kaoshiung; “Indoor with Mosquitoes and Moths”, Barcelona (2004); “Biennale del’art contemporain Chinois”, France (2005); “Unclear and Clearness, South Korea (2006); “Figurative Possibilities”, New York (2007); “Made in China, Estella Collection”, Louisiana Museum, Copenhagen, Denmark (2007).
