Yan Gallery is pleased to present its next exhibition entitled “Maiden’s Boudoir”, featuring a collection of oil paintings by mainland Chinese artist Zou Wei.
Zou Wei’s recent works depict the lives of young women from a bygone era. His images are tranquil and harmonious, sensuous and captivating. His ladies sit quietly reading books or playing musical instruments, their hair elegantly styled and robes casually draped. With a delicate oil painting technique Zou deftly combines gongbi or detailed painting with xieyi or freehand style to create these delightful and enchanting works.
