In this month-long rotating group exhibition, Connoisseur Art Gallery and Connoisseur Contemporary will be presenting to its viewers an exciting range of new works by both our new artists and our stable list of established Chinese artists such as JIA Juan Li, LIU Ying Zhao and Zhang Da Zhong.

Born in Hangzhou, China in 1960, JIA Juan Li obtained her MFA from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing in 1991, when Connoisseur Art Gallery started representing her.  In 1996 she was awarded a full two-year scholarship to study at the Ecole d’Art d’Aix-en-Provence in France.  Since then, she has held numerous exhibitions in Europe and Asia and received several awards, including the Prix de L’Auteurs dans les Arts Graphiques et Plastique in Monte Carlo in 2004. JIA is renowned for the dreamlike quality in her endearing portraits of refined Qing princesses, ethereal fairies in the garden and enchanting palace interiors.  Using the western oil painting technique, she re-creates Chinese history and culture in a most beautiful way; fusing the contemporary with the classic and the real with the imaginary.
