ZHANG Da Zhong was born in Guangzhou in 1953. He showed such great technique and potential in painting that he was accepted as a Masters student at the highly esteemed Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts without having to do his BFA. A celebrated portrait artist, ZHANG is renowned for his Red Guard series.
