Secret Dialogue
by YY9 Gallery
Location: YY9 Gallery
Artist(s): Silvia CHAN
Date: 12 Mar - 16 Apr 2011

YY9 Gallery is pleased to present “Secret Dialogue” – a solo exhibition of Silvia Chan. In this exhibition, Silvia will present a new series of paintings which has been created by imitating the way of creation of the nature—the accumulation of time and power. Using a painting material as fine and trivial as oil pastel, Silvia manages to enlarge the power of colours by drawing stroke by stroke delicately. In addition, she depicts her sensational responses to the colours of the nature, capturing bits of memories and thoughts in her mind. She believes that artists and colors rely closely on each other and the secret dialogues between both reveal the spirituality and purity of works with abstract expression.

This series of paintings not only releases Silvia’s very in-depth sensation to the colours of the nature but also presents her comprehension during the process of painting as well as the secret dialogues brought to us by her works.

‘My’ life is born and to die away by creation.
‘My’ life is leaving silently on the canvas by constant frictions.
‘I’ want to transfer the colors into your eyes.
Until you can see ‘Me’ someday.
And feels my sensation from the colors of the nature. – Silvia Chan
