Qiao Shiguang is 70 years young this year, and the paintings in this exhibition illustrate his mastery of the demanding technique of lacquer painting. This artist has travelled the length and breadth of his native land, and this is reflected in his landscape paintings, which range from Jiangnan canal scenes to Tibetan monasteries, from Sichuanese towns on the Yangtze river to the fortress-like houses of Huizhou
