It was in 2004 when Wellington Gallery started as a small gallery on the busy Wellington Street in Central, Hong Kong. It has since gathered over 60 artists and relocated to its current site on Wyndham Street. Wellington Gallery: The Collection represents 10 years of dedication by Director John Truong to introduce emerging Chinese and Asian contemporary art to Hong Kong and the world.

From the visceral yet poetic works of Liu Baomin to the subtle and timeless portraits of Fang Hui, Wellington Gallery strives to provide a stage for original talent. The Collection is the culmination of 10 years of experience, knowledge and understanding. It reflects John’s passion for art and his response to Hong Kong's ever-changing art scene.

Over the last decade, Wellington Gallery has experienced first hand the ups and downs of the contemporary Asian art market. Throughout this period, and despite the turbulence, Wellington Gallery has remained true to its mission to discover new and original voices, and to bring these artists to the attention of a wider and more discerning audience.
