Born in ShenYang City, China

was born in 1964 and graduate from provincial Art and Craft institute in Hebei.

In 1987, he was a dedicated art teacher at pre-university art classes in private as well as state Art institutes in Beijing. He now lives in Shongzhuang and is a prolific artist of drawing in oil painting color. He had a spiritual, quiet character and was one of the most original pioneers of the Modern Chinese contemporary movement. Fang loved the color blue since his early senior school days of doing scenery sketches. He enjoyed to paint blue violet with their flowers, so much that his teacher and classmates nicknamed him “The violet killer”.

As time passed, he discovered that it was not enough to express his thoughts and feelings with painting violets, and at times inappropriate or superficial. He, therefore, started to use royal blue, stain-glass blue and other shades of blue to express calm and melancholy, without diluting the blue colors; depth and purity, he did not mix in any white element, in the hope of having work that strike a chord with the viewer like  “Blue Concert”.

As a painter, he fully aware of the beauty presented by different colors and their unique ability to arouse specific emotion and feeling. His series of work titled. “Developing” and “ Youth” are perhaps the most compatible blue with the rebellion of Childhood imagery.
     
“Youth” series are related to his memory of teenager during the Cultural Revolution in China.
