Culture Club Gallery presents a solo exhibition by Alison Cahill, featuring photographic works from her journey through Asia.
Artist Statement:
Many of my photographs are based around people. I try to make a connection with them to capture their character, mood, expression and the experience etched on their faces. My aim is to convey a small piece of what their daily life might consist of at that moment in time.
Impressions are a celebration of my journey through Asia over the last 2 years. It captures the colours, textures, events, experiences and connections with people who have touched, humbled and inspired me. Focusing on Cambodia, India, Myanmar and Tibet, for me the Asian continent offers such a rich and varied life experience. This is just a small selection from my time so far... long may it continue...
About the Photographer:
A graphic designer by trade, having worked in London for over 10 years in the music and entertainment industry. In December 2010 I left London with a one way ticket to Thailand to embark on a trip to travel and volunteer throughout Asia with no fixed return date.
During this period I have volunteered on several conservation projects working with orangutans, gibbons and elephants to name a few, in Borneo, Indonesia and Thailand. I’m currently based in Cambodia where I worked for an NGO doing graphic design for a bear sanctury. This is my first photography exhibition in Hong Kong.
