Transcendence: Intuition and Spirituality
by Culture Club Gallery
Location: Culture Club Gallery
Artist(s): Proceso S. GELLADUGA II, Nina Christine BADON, Marvin Vlojan NAADAT, Gil Khan RAVAGO
Date: 6 Feb - 25 Feb 2012

In today’s fast moving society we are surrounded by technology and machinery. Everything is about quick results, fast food, express lanes, express machines, wireless, easy connectivity, so on and so forth. Everything is being catered to the lifestyle of every busy man. This is very evident especially here in the international city and financial capital of Asia, Hong Kong.

In these fast-changing times there is a greater need for self-awareness, a coming back to the self and ones communion with a higher being: God, the supernatural or simply nature. In this exhibition young photographers who are themselves are enrapt in their busy lifestyles will try to come back to their inner sanctuary, their intuition, their spirituality and communion with nature, an investigation of the self that will transcend the materialistic environment that we now live in.

About the Artists

Proceso S. Gelladuga II
Proceso born in 1980 is a multi-talented artist whose specialty has been in contemporary dance performance and choreography. He was a senior company member of Airdance, a leading contemporary dance company in the Philippines before coming to Hong Kong. He has choreographed and performed for the first WiFi Body International Contemporary Dance Festival held at the cultural Center of the Philippines.
His interest in the visual arts started when he was young drawing portrait of friends and designing costumes for his choreographies.  His discovery of painting enabled him to translate the same passion that he has for dance into another medium of artistic expression.
He has exhibited in Manila, Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia.

Nina Christine Badon
Born to parents of artists, Nina was raised in a creative environment who believes that being an artist is a unique talent that is recognized as one of the multiple intelligences in first world countries.
Shortly after she graduated from AB-Multimedia Arts in DLSU- College of St. Benilde, she worked as an animation artist in Roadrunner Multimedia firm and  as part time dancer while practicing photography, until joining the OPENING TEAM of HONG KONG DISNEYLAND in 2005.
Her work is a combination of what she loves to do, photography and digital art.

Marvin Viojan Naadat
Photographer. Professional Dancer. Specializing in the areas of Hip Hop, Contemporary and Jazz dance. . He was a member of Douglas Nierras’ Powerdance, where he mastered the art of Jazz and Contemporary dance.
Currently based in Hong Kong as a cast member in one of the most prestigious theme parks in Asia.
Influenced by his peers in the beginning, Photography has now become a part of his life. Capturing heartfelt moments during his daughter’s school performance using a camera of good quality, interest grew fonder especially in capturing regular moments transformed with deep meanings. Even the iphone is a solid instrument for Photography as Marvin is an official iphoneographer.
Photography, more than art and a medium of expression, is all about storytelling. He believes that everyone can be a Photographer as everyone has their own take on each subject similar to seeing life in different perspectives, and all can be shared to the world. No matter what capturing device is used.

Gil Khan Ravago
Gil Khan Ravago is a professional dancer with over 10years experience.
