"Tango, it's only with the heart that one can feel rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eyes.”

Argentine Tango is the most intimate, sophisticated and passionate partnered dance in the world & it has recently become popular in Hong Kong. Edith Ho is one of the Tango instructors to begin promoting Argentine Tango with her partner since 2004. Not only does she give regular dance lessons to the public, she also hosts weekly Milonga (Tango party) for all her students & guests. This was the year when she first started her love affair with tango, and also its photography art.

Through her camera, Edith artistically captures the sensual energy and exchange of feelings between the dancing couples, and the intimacy beyond movement and flow on the dance floor. It is all about connection & love between the dancers in the Milongas. Without any artificial setup, she uses over exposure techniques to create her very own photographic style. Every photo is a unique piece driven by a spontaneous moment on dance floor, and none of them can be reproduced. Each photo is very much the essence of Argentina Tango itself, where it is the interaction of the shutter with every moment on dance floor - the unique improvisation of music, human feelings, movement and spoken yearnings and love.

The exhibition presents 16 images from Edith’s portfolio as representation of her own world of the art of Argentine Tango. It is also a call for audience to try and feel the sensuality of Tango, whether you have danced Tango or not, and to “touch” Tango through her eyes.
