by Galerie Du Monde
Location: Galerie Du Monde
Artist(s): JIANG Chuan
Date: 22 Oct - 30 Nov 2013

After the successful July Hong Kong Joint exhibition held for renowned Chinese contemporary artists Yang Liming and Song Guiyu, Galerie du Monde continues their commitment to promote Chinese contemporary artists of great talent and proudly presents the first Hong Kong solo exhibition of Chinese artist Jiang Chuan, presenting the artist’s latest works.

Jiang Chuan was born in 1983, graduating from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing. He received the First Prize for his painting “Shadow” at the Year of Excellence Opus Exhibition in Central Academy of Fine Arts. In the past ten years, his works have been exhibited extensively in both solo and joint exhibitions throughout China.

“Several years after I left my hometown and started living in Beijing, I went back to the hill I grew up on with the hope that I would once again step into my childhood wonderland. But my little house on the hill was gone. The road was re-constructed with a concrete surface, and cars were parked everywhere. I froze with shock, feeling part of me robbed from my body. When I returned back to my studio in Beijing, I grabbed my brushes and started working on this series.” Jiang Chuan said.

The young talent Jiang Chuan creates a romantic and mysterious atmosphere with his new paintings to trace back the old memories. Viewers can immerse themselves into the dark green forests on the canvas. The visually fascinating paintings can transport you to his resplendent utopia.
