Nan Chao’s art works do not only express the fashionable visual experience of the younger generation, but importantly, he integrates the elements of Chinese landscape paintings, giving both the spiritual experience of conflict and harmony. In this exhibition, he tried to demonstrate the controversies triggered when the subtle oriental aroma encounters uninhibited contemporary visual elements as well as to arouse audience’s reflection.

Nan Chao, the rising arts star of the contemporary China, graduated from the School of Arts of Tsing Hua University in 2000. He then became a professor of Jilin Institute of the Arts in 2002 and started his own studio in Beijing in 2005. His highly evaluated masterpieces have been exhibited all over the world, such as Los Angeles, Chicago in the USA, Seoul in Korea and Koln in Germany. This is Nan Chao’s premiere exhibition in Hong Kong. In this exhibition, his work is best described with "Pandemonium". Generating critiques to the chaotic, corrupted, anomic contemporary society in a temptable way. Nanchao uses seductive visual elements to contrast with the conservative Chinese landscape paintings. He is a provocative painter truly demonstrating the sparks of clash.
